1. Download WhatsApp from the App Store

2. Open WhatsApp and agree to the terms
Tap the green WhatsApp icon to open it. Tap Agree and Continue to accept the terms. It may ask permission to send notifications and access your contacts. Tapping Allow makes WhatsApp easier to use.
3. Enter your mobile number
Choose Australia as your country, then type your mobile number and tap Next. WhatsApp uses your phone number as your account, so there is no separate username or password to remember.
4. Enter the code you are sent
WhatsApp sends you a text message with a six-digit code to confirm the number is yours. It often fills in by itself. If not, type the code in. This is a normal safety step.
5. Add your name and photo
